Dutch Bros. Coffee’s Dutch Luv Day Brings in Over 233,401 Pounds of Food
Grants Pass, Ore. (PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- This year, Dutch Bros. Coffee’s Feb. 14 Dutch Luv Day tipped the scales with 233,401 pounds of food collected — a 14 percent increase over last year’s total — for food banks across seven states.
All 215 Dutch Bros. Coffee locations participated, offering customers drink specials in exchange for minimum canned food contributions.
Dutch Bros. franchisees everywhere reported their highest totals ever, a testament to the goodness of Dutch Bros. customers and communities.
“It’s amazing when people get together in a concentrated effort," said Dutch Bros. Coffee co-founder Travis Boersma. "The impact that we can have in raising over 233,000 pounds of food is extraordinary.”
“This is a huge food drive for us and it could not come at a better time of year,” said Sam Engle of Josephine County Food Bank. “Around February, our shelves always begin to empty as we distribute the last of the holiday season food. Then, just as the last cans of chili and the last boxes of granola bars are being loaded out of the warehouse – along comes the Dutch Luv Day food drive.”
“We are blown away by the response to Dutch Luv Day. Our customers are beyond generous and stuffed the food bank shelves,” said Sacramento area owner Nikol Grubbs.
That same tune of gratitude rang throughout the 107 cities where Dutch Bros. Coffee is located, with local owner-operators everywhere taking joy in the opportunity to team up with customers to help feed hungry friends and neighbors.
