Medical Guardian's new Caregiver Resource blog series aims to educate and assist caregivers through the process of caring for an aging parent.

“Often times, Caregivers don't know where to begin or feel intimidated by ‘hospital- speak,’” said Medical Guardian Communications Manager, Hilary Young. “We're hoping to be able to tear down that wall for them with this new series.”

There are currently over 65 million people in the United States who provide daily living assistance or medical care to a loved one who is ill, disabled or elderly. Being thrust into the role of Caregiver for an aging parent can be scary, overwhelming and frustrating. Many Caregivers report feeling confused about the various specialists and courses of treatment for their loved ones.

Medical Guardian decided to come up with a solution: a Caregiver Resource series on the Medical Guardian Blog.

Aiming to educate and inform Caregivers about various experts in the geriatric field, the new series helps Caregivers understand all of the resources at their disposal when caring for an aging parent.

“Often times, Caregivers don't know where to begin or feel intimidated by ‘hospital- speak,’” said Medical Guardian Communications Manager, Hilary Young. “We're hoping to be able to tear down that wall for them with this new series.”

Participants in this new series have included Speech-Language Pathologist Rachel Wynn, MS, CCC-SLP, Non-invasive Cardiologist Dr. Jeffrey Wuhl, and Physical Therapist Barrett Dorko. Experts still to come include a podiatrist, dentist, occupational therapist, and an orthopedic surgeon, among others.
