Strapping machine manufacturer Mosca introduces new Evolution machines with belt and roller conveyor tabletop options. The new systems offer entry-level automation to customers without customized price tags.

These new machine options put high performance automation within reach for many to minimize labor requirements and increase production output.

The new Evolution strapping machine line from EAM-Mosca offers a proven combination of performance and flexibility. Introduced last year in operator cycled, walk-up models, the company announced today that the Evolution strapping systems are now available in belt or roller conveyor versions, creating entry-level automated systems for a wide variety of applications.

The new Evolution ROMP-6-B (Belt Conveyor) and ROMP-6-R (Roller Conveyor) models combine Mosca’s modular construction with advanced technology and refined performance standards. The popular modular approach has enabled customers to configure systems to meet their application requirements without customized price tags. The new models are available for immediate order.

According to company President, Ralph E. Morini, “These new machine options put high performance automation within reach for many to minimize labor requirements and increase production output. We believe that offering ‘customized without cost’ machine options creates true value for our customers.”

The combination of conveyor and high speed sealer provides an impressive package throughput of up to 40 units per minute, depending on arch size and bundle characteristics. Belt conveyor models are standard. The company recommends roller conveyor machines for heavier or abrasive packages that would tend to wear the belts. The machines include options for pneumatic press and backstops and are available in arch sizes from 600mm (24”) to 1000mm (40”) wide. They include the ability for electrical integration into virtually any automated production line.

All models include the proven Standard 6 Strap-way providing maximum integrity to the strap path from dispenser to strap feed completion, offering unprecedented reliability. The strap track from dispenser to sealer can be quickly disassembled without tools for convenient cleaning and servicing. Strap threading is fully automatic and the machine detects the end of the coil and ejects it automatically, facilitating reloading the next strap coil. For operator convenience, coils can be changed from the front of the cabinet, or when installed in a conveyor line, from the side via a sliding drawer.

The machines are available with Sonixs, patented ultrasonic sealing or temperature controlled heat seal. Both sealers feature Mosca’s DC brushless direct drive system for mechanical simplicity and minimal service requirements. The systems feature automatic energy saving modes, standard strap positioning, and are adaptable to complex application requirements.

The conveyor tables hinge up past 90 degrees from horizontal for easy maintenance and convenient servicing. Conveyor speeds are variable from 30' per minute to about 190’ per minute.
