Adding Wearable Technology Company Strengthens Rochester Optical’s Growing Position In The Digital Vision Marketplace.

This is just the beginning of many innovative and exciting products in the digital vision space.

Rochester Optical Manufacturing Company has now acquired wearable technology companies founded by Tim Moore who is known for developing applications and practical uses for Google Glass and other wearable devices. Under the 'acqui-hiring' deal between both the companies, Tim Moore and his team will be integrated into Rochester Optical’s research and product development, as well as domestic and international digital vision efforts.

“This was a great move for us to add this high level of expertise to our company, as we are developing ground breaking solutions for digital vision,” said Patrick Ho, CEO of Rochester Optical.

“Rochester Optical shares our core beliefs about digital vision, how it should evolve to be fashionable and invisible, easy to use instead of frustrating, and affordable. We couldn't be more excited to join their efforts,” Tim Moore, founder of Venture Glass was quoted as saying.

Many customers have already benefited from Rochester Optical’s deployment of GOLD prescription lenses used in smart glasses. “This is just the beginning of many innovative and exciting products in the digital vision space,” said Ho.                                                            

The companies did not disclose the financial figures of the transaction involved.
