The Head of Security of the company will be also delivering a highly topical presentation on non-traditional security methods in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Amongst the consortium’s recently notable activities was the handover of a school to the residents of Mangestau Region in Kazakhstan within the framework of their Venture’s Social and Infrastructure Projects. This is a great example of how oil companies can overcome the community engagement challenges while having successful and uninterrupted operations.

Community engagement challenges, and how security executives can overcome them, will be the topic of a panel discussion at the Central Asian and Caspian Oil & Gas Security Forum. The senior level event will also hold discussions on other challenges that the industry is dealing with in the region, such as theft prevention (which results every year in significant supply losses), pipeline and infrastructure protection, maritime security, cyber security and counter-terrorism.

The two day meeting will take place on 8th-9th April at the Fairmont Hotel in the Flame Towers of Baku, gathering senior level security executives from the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Oil & Gas of Kazakhstan, Tengizchevroil, MOL Group, Tethys Petroleum, Georgian Oil and Gas Company, Saipem, United Nations Department for Safety and Security, General Electric Oil & Gas, Russian International Affairs Council, Chevron, ABB Russia, Rompetrol and many others.

The leading security system integrator from Kazakhstan, Avencom, and the cyber security provider for industrial networks and critical infrastructures, Waterfall will be sponsoring the forum along with Elta Systems and DSIT.
