San Diego, California (PRWEB) March 08, 2014

The BBC World Service, the world's largest international broadcaster, broadcasting news, speech and discussions in 28 languages to many parts of the world, today announced that it has selected the X-Digital radio platform from Pico Digital, Inc., for its next generation radio distribution network, including the XNMS network and content management system and the XDS-PROQ line of satellite receivers.

This year the BBC will deploy the X-Digital radio distribution platform to all five continental regions that the BBC supports. The X-Digital platform was carefully evaluated among various known brands and was selected because of its richness of advanced integrated features, reliability, and cost.

The XNMS network and content management system, along with the XDS-PROQ receiver’s advanced features allow dynamic scheduling for localization of programs and pre-recorded content, store-forward file distribution, time-shifting, and other advanced features to distribute content over satellite and the internet.

"We are pleased with BBC's selection, and we look forward to taking the BBC’s radio distribution system to the forefront of the industry," said Jose Rivero, VP Network Technology. "The X-Digital platform provides the BBC with an unrivaled level of fully-integrated advanced features that will enable them to provide new services for their partners."
