D&D Security Resources Awarded LAUSD Piggyback Contract
Martinez, CA (PRWEB) March 07, 2014 -- D&D Security Resources, Inc., a leader mobile technology support products for education, announced it has been awarded a statewide piggyback contract from the Los Angeles Unified School District. The contract provides classroom technology support furniture and iPad integration carts allowing school districts across California to use the competitive prices making it less costly to use mobile technology and iPads in education – in particular – devices to support the Common Core SBAC requirement. The multi-manufacturer contract, which was competitively awarded, runs through June 30, 2016.
D&D Security was selected to provide powered technology furniture such as iPad / tablet charging carts and security lockers. The contract including a new product line called the MDL Series. This line of universal charging lockers announced earlier this year provides a secure location for students and teachers to charge laptops, Chromebooks™ and iPads in education environments. The contract also includes educational discounts on Bretford Manufacturing, Lucasey products and the complete line of Datamation carts and lockers. The contract award items are slated to support new and existing mobile device deployments throughout the district concerning classroom technology and audio-visual presentation furniture.
According to the California Education Code, competitively bid contracts with the Piggyback clause, allow any school district or community college within the State of California to utilize the awarded bid pricing subject to the terms and conditions of the contract. “In the case of the LAUSD piggyback contract, it includes volume tiered discounts as well as a two percent pre-payment discount (45 days or less) and free freight which makes our customer’s dollar go much further,” boasted Dean Smith, D&D’s President and CEO who has been working closely with LAUSD on this important contract.
This new contract further expands D&D’s partnership with LAUSD. “D&D has been proud to work with LAUSD for the last four decades providing technology support products for their students, faculty and staff. This new contract expands our partnership into 2016, giving us the opportunity to introduce exciting and innovative technology support products into the district,” said D&D General Manager, Jeff Rogers who heads D&D’s “using iPads in Education” task force.
