Tracker Announces Webinar With U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 06, 2014 -- Tracker Corp, the leading provider of solutions for Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance, today announced a webinar with U.S. Immigration and Customs (ICE), to help HR executives and compliance officers be well prepared in advance of being served a Notice of Inspection from ICE. The webinar, How to ACE the ICE audit, gives employers an opportunity to hear about the audit process directly from experts who have experience with Form I-9 investigations, and learn what they can do now to prepare for a successful outcome.
On average, paper I-9s have an error rate of 76%. This number was determined by processing over a million legacy I-9s through Tracker’s I-9 remediation product, I-9 Resolve. Records created with many first-generation electronic I-9 systems can have even higher error rates – as high as 100% for systems that make the same error consistently on each record. Since ICE imposes a fine of up to $1,100 on each I-9 record they find in error, these error rates mean most organizations carry a high level of potential liability. An organization with 25,000 legacy I-9s carries a potential liability of over $13 million for their I-9 records.
In addition to administrative fines that reach into the millions of dollars, ICE investigations with poor outcomes can also bring unwanted publicity.
“We’ve met many HR and compliance officers who thought their compliance with legacy I-9 records was high, only to have an ICE investigation reveal otherwise,” said Tim Danison, Tracker CEO. “We give employers the tools and knowledge to understand their I-9 compliance risk, and avoid unplanned financial exposure and negative publicity.”
Webinar speakers include Lynda M. Buehring, Supervisory Special Agent, ICE Homeland Security Investigations. Lynda has been involved in several thousand I-9 audits during her 19 year career in worksite enforcement. Also speaking will be Brian Fancher, Tracker’s VP of Product Management and Chief Compliance Officer. Brian and his compliance team support Tracker customers through ICE audits.
In this webinar, HR executives, compliance officers, and those responsible for recruiting and hiring will learn how to protect their organizations. They will learn:
• How to prepare in advance
• What to do immediately when ICE knocks on the door
• The steps in an ICE audit, what to expect in each step
• Lessons learned from supporting real-world audits
• Error types learned from analyzing over 1M records
This free webinar will be held March 12th at 10am PDT | 1pm EDT. To learn more or register for the webinar, visit How to ACE the ICE audit.
