Adlabs Imagica Waterpark Has Chosen State of the Art Water Quality by Using the Neptune Benson Defender® Aquatic Filtration System
Coventry, RI (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 -- Neptune Benson, a leading manufacturer of commercial pool filtration systems, UV disinfection systems, and aquatics components, is proud to be chosen to treat the water for Adlabs Imagica Waterpark in Khopoli, Maharashtra, India.
Adlabs Imagica Waterpark is the first of its kind in the sub continent. It’s India’s first and only theme park of an international scale. The park is spread across 300 acres and has over 21 rides and attractions many of which require thousands of gallons of water to operate. The park hosts approximately 20,000 visitors per day, most of which take part in the many aquatic activities at the park. With this many bathers, water safety becomes paramount.
Adlabs researched many different filtration options in fact the plant was originally designed with sand filters. When it was realized how many sand filters it would take to filter the water for the park, it was quickly decided sand was not an option. After all of the filtration methods were explored it became apparent that Neptune Benson’s Defender® filter was the best option.
The award-winning Defender® Regenerative media filter removes particles down to 1 micron or less (see inset). When it comes to water quality, the smaller the particle removal the better. Defender® removes over 99.0% of Crypto in a single pass.
For any installation of this size, water savings are huge consideration; with thousands of gallons per minute of water for the attractions, it is crucial to use a water saving device. The Defender® Regenerative Media Filter eliminates over 90% of the backwash water associated with sand filter operation. The dramatic reduction of backwash waste directly translates to savings in chemicals and fuels for reheating associated with make-up water. If Adlabs had chosen sand filters, approximately eighteen (18) would be needed to replace nine (9) Defender filters.
Neptune Benson Defender® was chosen for water quality as well as sustainability. By using Defender® there is 90% less water and waste, 30% less fuel and chemicals used, 75% smaller footprint as well as 50% reduction in electricity.
“We are proud to be the filtration system of choice,” says Mr. Stephen Votta, International Sales Director Neptune Benson, “ In 2013 Defender filters received certification by the Australian ‘Smart Watermark Program’ in recognition of it’s water saving qualities. The only filter of its type to ever receive such recognition and in fact compete as a finalist for product of the year.”
