Darn Tough Vermont Named Official Sock Sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s 2014 Relay for Life NordicStyle
Northfield, Vermont (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- Darn Tough Vermont, American manufacturer of the fastest growing collection of outdoor performance socks, was named the official sock sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s 2014 Relay for Life NordicStyle.
The only event of its kind in the country, Relay for Life NordicStyle is an overnight cross-country ski and snowshoe event that will take place from Saturday, March 22 to Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. Recognized for being the first premier full-service cross-country ski center in the United States, the Trapp Family Lodge has hosted Relay for Life NordicStyle for over a decade.
“One person can make a difference, a community working together can bring about even more change. That’s why Relay for Life is so powerful. Each event helps raise awareness for the American Cancer Society while being completely unique to its community. We’re thrilled to be working with Darn Tough Vermont because they’re an active member of the local community and they also makes the best Nordic socks around. Our partnership couldn’t be a better fit,” says Kathi Echelberger, Relay for Life Committee Member.
In addition to Darn Tough’s sponsorship of Relay for Life NordicStyle, the Vermont hosiery company was also named the official sock of the Trapp Family Lodge in January 2014, adding an even deeper community connection to the event.
“Vermonters are a tight-knit community and Relay for Life NordicStyle is the perfect example of how we come together to support each other. It’s great to stand alongside other local businesses, families and individuals who are supporting Relay for Life and their mission to end cancer. We’re honored to support an organization that values perseverance and strength as much as we do,” says Ric Cabot, President and CEO of Darn Tough Vermont.
The 2014 Relay for Life NordicStyle starts at 6:00pm on Saturday, March 22 and goes until 6:00am the following day, Sunday, March 23, 2014. The signature Relay for Life ceremonies will include the Survivor and Caregiver Reception, the Luminaria Ceremony and the Fight Back Ceremony. All money raised during the event will stay in Vermont to help those affected by cancer.
