David Lloyd Leisure Fires Up the Lean Green Fundraising Machine for Sport Relief
(PRWEB UK) 10 March 2014 -- Members at David Lloyd Leisure, the Official Fitness Partner of Sport Relief 2014, are being encouraged to go green while getting active during a week of fundraising group exercise classes.
From March 10-14, Europe’s premier health, sport and leisure group, is inviting members to join in the fun and games for Sport Relief by wearing David Lloyd Leisure’s signature green while working up a sweat in the clubs’ group exercise classes.
The week of ‘Lean Green Fundraising Machine’ classes will be followed by a Friends and Family Fundraising Weekend on March 15-16 when members can bring along guests to experience their club and enjoy a host of activities to help raise money for Sport Relief.
Group health and fitness manager Rob Beale commented: “We’re very proud to be the Official Fitness Partner for Sport Relief. Our group exercise classes are a great way for our members to get active – whether it’s at an energizing Body Combat class or calming yoga session – and help raise money to give extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and throughout the world a helping hand to turn their lives around while having a bit of fun with fellow exercisers.”
David Lloyd Leisure’s 78 David Lloyd Clubs across the UK have been hosting a series of fundraising initiatives - including the launch of the Pennies electronic charity box and half-term children’s activities - to support the campaign, which culminates with the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games on Sunday 23 March.
A David Lloyd Leisure expert fitness team will be putting their best foot forward by providing the warm-up for thousands of runners at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on March 23, one of the landmark venues for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, featuring three massive fundraising events – the Mile, the Swimathon and the Cycle.
