We may look like geeks in rubber masks but we are doctors, professors, and people from all walks of life. This is our fun; this is our escape.
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) March 12, 2014
Set for the second weekend of April and with many confirmed stars, artists, and authors, this weekend-long sci-fi convention presented by the Away Mission promises to be the sci-fi event of the year. William Shatner leads the pack with his second convention appearance in the sunshine state in the past decade. Captain Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series TV show was just the springboard for this multitalented actor and all around performer.
He will be joined by the beautiful Alice Eve from the JJ Abraham film Star Trek Into Darkness where she plays Dr. Carol Marcus and Kirk’s likely-to-be love interest.
Rounding out the lineup are John DeLancie from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager, Kevin Sorbo from the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Andromeda. Star of the Syfy series Warehouse 13, Eddie McClintock who plays secret service agent Peter Lattimer is also scheduled to attend.
Leonard Nimoy will be participating in a rare Q&A session with his fans via Skype for the first time since he recently announced that he was diagnosed with COPD, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
As with the company’s past conventions, this show is planned around providing a relaxed and sociable atmosphere where fans can mingle with stars and enjoy the many convention activities including autograph and photo opportunities, panel discussions, auctions, special events for children, and more.
First-time convention goers will be pleasantly surprised at the ambiance and disposition of the average patron.
Several ticket options are available for advanced purchase. Daily admission tickets start at $39. Weekend tickets start at $109 and include an autograph or photo op from William Shatner.
