In an announcement that has been expected by many insiders in the music business, Queen and Adam Lambert officially made their plans to tour together in 2014 public. The legendary British rock group and the openly gay pop star announced that they would head out on a 19 date tour across the United States and Canada. It won’t be the first time these two acts have performed together on stage and with this tour possibly being the final trek to North America for Queen, will provide fans with a memorable experience that won’t soon be forgotten.

In 1970, Queen was created in London, England by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor. In the years that have passed since they originally joined forces, their catalog of music has ended up with many of the most popular songs of all-time. The group has released endless No. 1 albums, singles and videos and are respected by their fans and the media alike. They have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and despite the passing of Mercury and the retirement of Deacon, remain popular acts for their diehard fans to see live.

With Lambert, fans know what to expect when he is performing a live show. They are going to get an enthusiastic, excitable and flamboyant character that gives his all with each performance to ensure his fans go home happy. Lambert first became a popular act after his appearance on American Idol. The native of Indianapolis, Ind. finished second on the show, immediately signed a record deal and released his debut album months later. Since its release, Lambert has sold close to a million copies in the United States. His follow-up album opened at the top of the Billboard albums charts, making Lambert the first openly gay musician to appear atop the chart.

This tour won’t be the first time Queen and Lambert have performed together, as they first performed together on Idol. Their performance there opened them up to perform together later on and they did just that, performing at the MTV Europe Music Awards and in 2013, put on one of the most talked about performances at the iHeart Music Festival. They have also played together at some venues across Europe. When these two popular musical acts take to the stage together beginning on June 19, they will be taking their show to many of the most popular venues on the continent. On opening night, they will be Chicago, Ill. at the United Center. The tour will run until July 20 with a show at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Washington, D.C. In between, they will play MadisonSquare Garden in New York City, The Forum in Los Angeles, Calif.; MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas; Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
