Menlo College is hosting the First International Conference on Coaching Education, organized by The Graduate School Alliance of Executive Coaching (GSAEC), on March 27 and 28, 2014.

Designed for coach educators and researchers, the conference will promote sharing of leading coaching education theories and practices, academic program content and design, instructional goals and methodologies, assessment measures, admission and graduation criteria, and other topics related to developing executive and organizational coaches.

“The field of professional coaching is diverse,” said Dr. Pauline Fatien Diochon, Associate Professor, Menlo College, CA and IAE Lyon, France, and host chair of the event. “At a time when the industry is on its way to professionalization, this conference aims at identifying what we know and don’t know about coaches’ education. We look forward to generating a conversation on the many topics of coaching education.” The program chair is Dr. Mark Federman, Adler, Canada. The conference committee will invite selected presenters to publish their conference papers in a theme issue of the peer-reviewed journal, Journal of Psychological Issues in Organizational Culture (JPOC), a Wiley publication. International Coach Federation (ICF) and HR Certification Institute (HRCI) Continuing Education Credit Units will be available.

The conference will begin with a reception, 5‒8pm, Thursday, March 27, and continue throughout the day on Friday, March 28, with presentations and discussions. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
