Basketball Wives LA star Malaysia Pargo Talks about Her Reality TV Image, New Cast Members and Philanthropy on Maria Menounos’ Black Hollywood Live Network
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- VH1's Basketball Wives LA's Malaysia Pargo discussed her persona as a reality television star, “I want my fans to know that I’m not all stuffy. A lot of people think that I don’t laugh and I don’t like to have fun and all I want to do is peace make, no. I am a human being. I like to have fun, I like to laugh, I like rap music and I like Christian music. I’m kind of all over the board. I am human. If you are saying things that are going to piss me off, you’re not going to get the nice me, you’re going to get the, I’m pissed off me. So, let's make sure that we keep it at a nice level and I can keep smiling, and I can give you hugs because that’s what I really want to do. I don’t want to cuss you out, but I will if I have too.”
During her interview with Maria Menounos’ Black Hollywood Live Network, the 1st online entertainment network dedicated to African American content, Pargo expressed her inspiration for her new jewelry line “Three Beats" and partnership with celebrity jeweler "Jason of Beverly Hills." “While I was pregnant with my twins, I was on bed rest and I had a lot of time on my hands, so I started sketching. I collaborated with Jason of Beverly Hills, he said that it was a good idea, there’s was a market for it and people are not doing it, so why not try it. I tried it, and it actually worked.”
The Compton native also talked about her experience growing up in southern California. “I feel like it’s just like anywhere else, you need to know your surroundings. Yes, there were gang members around, and yes I’m used to guns, and yes most people if you hear gunshots you would be scared, but I’m not. I don’t’ really see nothing wrong with growing up in the hood, because it just made me stronger.”
Additionally, Pargo shared the importance of giving back to her hometown. “Growing up, there was always someone there to lend a hand. I wanted to do my share and give back to my city. There used to be an annual trip to Magic Mountain and a lot of the families didn’t have a lot of money to do that. Had there not been someone to give back to my city, I probably would not have seen those thing,s or know that there was more to living outside of the inner city.”
