Nexus Clinical's Physician Designed, Cloud-based Electronic Health Record Achieves 2014 ONC Certification for Stage 2 of Meaningful Use
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- Nexus Clinical’s Nexus EHR version 6.2 has been tested and certified as a 2014 Complete Ambulatory EHR by the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records (EHR) Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. Nexus Clinical’s Nexus EHR version 6.2 is compliant with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“We made a commitment to our clients and ourselves that we would be amongst the first companies to certify and deploy a complete 2014 ambulatory system. Everyday we work to improve our platform and today we are delighted to announce that Nexus EHR version 6.2 is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria and was certified as a Complete EHR on March 6th, 2014,” says Dr. Abhinav Gautam, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer.
Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.
“Over the next few years, the standards set forth by the Stage 2 measures will catalyze the liquidity of current electronic medical data. Structured data and the utilization of web services will enable both patients and providers to leverage data in a way that is positive for society. Providers now have options and will no longer be trapped in their current systems,” says Tim Langan, Chief Operating Officer of Nexus Clinical.
“Leveraging information technology for healthcare initiatives provides the opportunity to deliver a high-level quality of care and efficiency which essentially benefits and enhances the overall patient experience,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group Inc. “We have been testing software for more than a decade and will continue to provide our extensive experience testing and certifying complex systems for multiple industries, as well as ensuring interoperability and security remain key components in the growing healthcare industry.”
This Complete EHR is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.”
