ProPatterns Announces 2014 EXPOSED ELIGIBLE Self Promotion Contest
Yankton, South Dakota (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- The ‘Exposed Eligible?’ contest offers the opportunity for aspiring anglers to create a three to five minute video focused on angling practices as they relate to specific patterns, bodies of water, use of equipment, creation of techniques or equipment, tournament practices, ethics or other topics related to fishing. Self promotion videos are incredibly popular right now but without the proper channels of distribution a lot of good content falls to the way side and gets overlooked. The EXPOSED video series highlights the best anglers in the industry and has built a reputation among industry sponsors and media as one of the most popular educational series ever made, this reputation will ensure high visibility for the contestants as they look to gain sponsorships and recognition.
Rather than the entry fee required for most film contests, entrants to the Exposed Eligible film contest instead are required to purchase a piece of Exposed Eligible gear, which they will wear during filming.
The contest is currently open for creativity to begin, but entrants will have until June 1, 2014 before they can start posting their finished videos. The posting window for submissions runs through August 2014. Winners of the contest are chosen in two stages. Each video is submitted to the Offerpop APPLICATION (APP) through the ProPatterns Facebook page, where Facebook users vote for their favorite videos as they are posted. Once the first round of voting is complete, Exposed pros will vote for their favorite Exposed Eligible film from the top ten finalists.
The Grand Prize winner of the Exposed Eligible contest will receive $500 travel per diem and a day of filming with Tim Horton, host of Timmy Horton Outdoors, on a destination of his choice. The winner’s video production will also become part of next year’s Exposed video series lineup.
Sondra Rankin, co-host of Exposed, describes the opportunity to film with Timmy Horton as “an ultimate fishing experience! Any day you can spend on the water with a BASS Elite Series pro is priceless.”
Even though not everybody who enters will win, Rankin explains how this contest could open doors for amateurs wishing to break through to the professional level: “The Exposed Eligible film contest means amateur anglers seeking to gain exposure in the professional world of bass fishing now have the potential to experience a level in the industry that most spend years crafting to obtain. Any outlet in media is an opportunity to showcase your talents and gain recognition as you pursue your dreams.”
Those who become top-ten finalists, but come short of the Grand Prize, will not only have their videos reviewed by Exposed pros, but also will win a number of prizes from the ProPatterns store.
Having been in front of the camera for Exposed for the past three years, Sondra Rankin offers this advice to the amateur filmmaker setting out to make their Exposed Eligible video: “…just be real. Be unique, share why you believe you have talents or skill sets that need to be exposed, and just be you. Speak clearly and precisely, show your personality, and make us believe that you have exactly what it takes to be Exposed.”
