The reasoning behind this latest addition to the MarketDeveloper site came out of research into website traffic driven from sponsored searches (PPC) and organic searches. As many as one in nine hits to the MD website came from academic institutions seeking information or definitions of key CRM terms. Since these searches were purely looking for information as opposed to commercial ventures the quality of this traffic was lower than that of other queries. Rather than cutting their losses and adding these long tail searches as negative PPC terms, MarketDeveloper has decided to face the issue head on and create designated, content rich landing pages for these queries.
As a SaaS CRM company, MD are hoping this approach will improve website traffic as well as provide useful assistance to students. Although this is a partially altruistic gesture, there is also a certain degree of future planning to the decision. MarketDeveloper is hoping that whilst the brightest and best are researching for their PHD, the name “MarketDeveloper” may stick in their heads. When these future directors of Unilever and Proctor and Gamble are looking for a CRM system, they may think fondly back to their student days and the informative resources that helped them gain First Class Honours!
