Career Enhancement and Leadership Development the Focus of Young Professionals Programs at SAE International World Congress
Warrendale, PA (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- The SAE International 2014 World Congress offers programs and services specifically designed for young mobility engineering professionals and students.
The SAE 2014 World Congress will be held April 8-10 at Cobo Center in Detroit. Hyundai will serve as Host Company; and Tier One Strategic Partner for the event is Delphi. Theme of the SAE World Congress is “Creating New Possibilities.”
The variety of young professionals’ activities are designed to engage young professionals, while providing valuable insight, skills sets and knowledge that can be used throughout their careers.
Activities will include:
• Daily Speed Mentoring Sessions – “Executives Connecting with Future Leaders”
Engage with executives in an informal setting, while rotating around the room to different stations at set time intervals.
• Leadership Lessons Panel Discussion (Tuesday, April 8, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) – IAV Automotive Engineering will host the “Leadership Lessons” Young Professional Luncheon to encourage an open forum discussion for YPs to engage accomplished industry professionals. (Space is limited. RSVP attendance at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGJtZjFBcks3Y0lzQWR3c05aUk1DeVE6MA)
• Your Personal Brand (Wed., April 9th, 10-11 a.m.) Featuring Dennis Mannion – Do you know your personal brand? Your brand, reputation and credibility are all directly linked to your business, career, and professional path. Dennis Mannion, President and CEO of Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Detroit Pistons, is very familiar with developing a personal brand. In this career development session, Mannion will share his personal brand success story and inspire others to write theirs.
• Navigating your Strategic Career Path (Wed., April 9th, 11 a.m.-Noon) – Some people believe that employers should establish their employees’ career tracks. In some ways, that makes things easier – just follow along with what others have planned for you and hope for the best. But such a passive approach to your professional development can lead to a stagnant, unfulfilling career. During this career development session, speakers will engage in conversation about career paths, leadership and what senior leaders expect from employees.
