iPatientCare has been a leader when it comes to interoperability & supportive of the path-breaking efforts of CMS & ONC for making patient health records getting more interoperable across the continuum of care, said Arnaz Bharucha, STO, iPatientCare.

iPatientCare, Inc., a pioneer in mHealth and cloud based ambulatory EHR, integrated Practice Management and Patient Portal solutions announced the selection of iPatientCare EHR as one of the CMS Designated Test EHR.

As part of meaningful use Stage 2’s transition of care objective, measure #3 requires eligible professionals (EPs) and eligible hospitals/critical access hospitals (CAHs) to conduct one or more successful tests with the CMS designated test EHR during the EHR reporting period as one of the options. EPs and eligible hospitals/CAHs would be able to use iPatientCare EHR as one of the CMS Designated Test EHR, if matched by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) hosted “EHR Randomizer” software system.

iPatientCare has been a leader when it comes to interoperability and supportive of the path-breaking efforts of CMS and ONC for making patient health records getting more interoperable across the continuum of care. Being selected under Designated Test EHR program gives us an opportunity to extend our services to the hundreds of thousands of physicians, in addition to the thousands of physicians being served by us today. This is iPatientCare’s small contribution towards the CMS’s goal of Better Health, Better Care, Lower Costs,” said Arnaz Bharucha, Senior Technology Officer iPatientCare.

Based on the results of the Test EHR Pilot program, CMS and ONC have finalized the technical capabilities that need to be in place in order to be designated Test EHR and the test process to be followed by providers. CMS and ONC launched the program on January 14, 2014 with Designated Test EHRs that met the criteria and indicated interest in participating in the program.

“We are very proud of this rare recognition of being one of the CMS Designated Test EHR. We have worked hard to be an ONC 2014 Edition Meaningful Use Stage 2 certified Complete EHR. Being a Test EHR allows us to give something back to the community, and hence, we are very excited”, said Kedar Mehta, CTO, iPatientCare, Inc.
