CCAR Trains ARCO Members to be Trainers of the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy©
Hartford, CT (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- Phil Valentine, CCAR Executive Director and RCA Trainer, stated "What a thrill it was to train people from 12 different states! I am especially glad that all these RCOs took us up on our offer and sent two trainers who can now deliver the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy©. Their attitude, sense of humor and remarkable skill made this "the best class ever!"
In an effort to build capacity across the country, CCAR provided this unique opportunity to the members of ARCO to help recovery communities gain access to their highly regarded recovery coaching curriculum. By partnering with fellow members of ARCO, CCAR has provided organizations with a means to train the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© to their own staff, volunteers and anyone interested in serving as a recovery coach. A Recovery Coach serves many roles while removing barriers and navigating obstacles to recovery. This role is becoming more prevalent as more and more people seek recovery services from their local recovery organizations.
What is the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy©?
The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© is a 5-day intensive training academy hosted in a retreat-like atmosphere where participants develop the skills to guide, support and mentor anyone who would like to work on their recovery from alcohol and other addictions. The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© focuses on three components: listening actively, asking good questions, discovering and managing one's own stuff. More specifically, participants will explore the guiding principles and stages of recovery, cultural competence, ethical and boundary issues, stages of change and self-care.
Recognized nationally as the original and leading recovery offering of its kind, CCAR's Recovery Coach Academy is an innovative new approach to healing people's lives that is unlike any other training. It offers participants the once-in-a-lifetime experience to gain new knowledge, be challenged, and reap valuable rewards, providing the essential learning, tools, and resources needed to become an effective recovery coach.
