Tonight, MilwaukeeHome Stage Brings Milwaukee’s Music Scene to South by Southwest Festival
Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- Land the Big Gig® and MilwaukeeHome will sponsor a stage at the nationally-renowned South by Southwest (SXSW) music, film and interactive festival, taking place tonight, March 12 in Austin, Texas. The MilwaukeeHome Stage presence in Austin is designed to showcase the talents of Milwaukee- raised and Milwaukee-supported artists and give artists from all over the country better access to Milwaukee media and performance venues.
Land the Big Gig®, powered by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Summerfest, is a nationwide talent search that culminates with a live performance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, known as “The World’s Largest Music Festival.” Participating bands upload an original music video at LandtheBigGig.com and finalists are invited to perform live at Summerfest. A panel of music industry experts will judge the contest and select the winning artist. Artists win not only the opportunity to perform at Summerfest but also will win cash and other prizes.
The MilwaukeeHome Stage in Austin will be located Cielo Nightclub, 505 Neches St, Austin TX 78701. The event will feature more than 25 artists and bring the unique flavor of the Milwaukee music scene to a nationwide audience.
The show is an all day event; beginning at 11 am today and running through 2 am. The event is free and open to ages 21 and up. Performers will include:
