New York City Tops List of Most Expensive Cities, According to Forbes Magazine and Economic Policy Institute
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 18, 2014 -- Forbes magazine released a report on February 26 that named New York City as one of the most overpriced cities in the United States. The report, titled America’s Most Overpriced Cities, was based on many factors, such as the cost of housing, food, utilities, gas, transportation and other living expenses. New York City and Honolulu tied for the top spot on the list. Infinity Moving & Storage, a New York City moving company, released a blog about these two reports on the company’s website.
“Everybody knows New York City can be expensive, but that just gives us even more motivation to offer affordable pricing,” said John King, spokesman of Infinity Moving & Storage.
New York City also topped a list released by Economic Policy Institute last year on how much money families need to get by in different cities around the United States. According to the report, it costs a New York City family an annual budget of $94,676 to provide basic necessities for a family of four. New Yorkers spend almost a fifth of their annual budget on housing and a quarter of their monthly budget on child care.
Infinity Moving & Storage makes an effort to keep prices competitive, despite the company’s overpriced location. The New York City moving company lists monthly deals at its website.
