Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau Offers Incentives, Free Convention Services
Shreveport-Bossier, LA (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- In a highly competitive convention market, the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is rolling out incentives and beefing up services to generate more conventions for Shreveport-Bossier. The organization boasts a bevy of free services and has added some new ones to help meeting planners produce a great conference and increase their bottom line.
In January, the convention and tourist bureau announced its Golden Ticket promotion that gives planners $1,000 to offset meeting venue, transportation and food costs. A new service that they recently added is volunteer assistance to help planners facilitate their conference, serve as registrars, administer surveys and assist as needed.
Other free services that meeting planners can take advantage of include:
• Ditty bags that could include visitor guides, maps, and promotional items
• Smart cart that can be used as a mobile visitor center to help delegates get out and about
• Site visits for pre-planning purposes
• Event marketing can include news release distribution, email blasts, direct mail, video, and other collateral
• Registration assistance
“The complimentary site visit was the selling point for me,” said Helen Hernandez, CEO for the North American Travel Journalist Association (NATJA). “Anyone looking to have a conference or meeting at this wonderful location can look forward to a memorable event.”
Dianna Douglas, regional sales manager for the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, says that all services are negotiable and are tailored specifically for each event’s needs.
“We want to do whatever is necessary within our means to fulfill client’s needs and expectations,” said Douglas. “It is about building relationships with people by adding that lagniappe or ‘little something extra’ to the event.”
Based on the number of hotel rooms, other exclusions and costs for extra services may apply.
