Liverpool Football Club Returns to Fenway Park for Rematch with AS Roma

Reds Take on Serie A side at America’s Iconic Ballpark as Part of Club’s 2014 Pre-Season Tour

Fenway Sports Management (FSM) today announced that Liverpool Football Club (LFC) will travel to Boston’s Fenway Park for a pre-season match against AS Roma on Wednesday, July 23. FSM is the sports marketing agency of Fenway Sports Group, parent company of LFC, the Boston Red Sox, Roush Fenway Racing and New England Sports Network (NESN).

The match will feature two of the most prominent clubs in European soccer – both of whom have significant New England fan bases and ties to the Boston area – setting the stage for an exciting re-match at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark. The two clubs last squared off on July 25, 2012 before a sold out crowd of more than 37,000 fans. Tickets will go on sale Friday May 2, 2014 and additional information will be released in the near future.

Liverpool’s highly-anticipated return to the Fenway Park marks the start of the team’s 2014 U.S. pre-season tour, which includes International Champions Cup matches in Chicago, New York and Charlotte. The tour aims to engage with U.S.-based fans and offer better access to the Club. In addition to matches in each of the four U.S. cities, LFC will host player appearances and Liverpool FC Foundation community activities.
