Passin Associates Receives Contract to Supply the US Army Medical Command with Support Services for Continuing Medical Education Reaccreditation

Project to Focus on Maintaining the Army’s Accreditation with Commendation Status

The United States Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) has awarded a contract to Steve Passin & Associates to support MEDCOM’s efforts to assess their compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Criteria for Accreditation, support the conduct of a self-study of their compliance and areas for improvement, conduct worldwide training for their hospitals and medical facilities to provide continuing medical education for Army physicians, and to improve and update their processes, practices and systems. The project will be implemented over the next 16 months. The award was the result of a competitive bidding process in which quality and cost were evaluated.

This contract marks the fourth consecutive award of this project to Passin Associates, each one of which has resulted in maximum accreditation outcomes for the United States Army. Passin Associates also has designed the content of MEDCOM’s unique and comprehensive automated system for the planning and execution of continuing medical education (CME) activities and programs on a global basis for the hundreds of CME projects certified for credit by the Army each year. The system contributes to the cost-effectiveness of Army CME and total regulatory compliance.

Founded in 1991, Steve Passin & Associates is one of the premier consulting firms supporting both the CME enterprise and Industry supporters of the CME enterprise. Over the years, SP&A’s services have moved from a focus on the preparation of regulatory reports to one of early interventions to position the CME provider as an exemplary educator. With the movement away from mass education to a process that carefully tailors education to individual learner gaps in their learning portfolios, CME providers must focus on building skills as educators. This is the primary focus of SP&A’s services. Our motto—Confidence, Quality, Competence—sums up the energies and direction of our team. Passin Associates is or has been the consultant and advisor to more than 120 educational and publishing organizations in the United States.
