Diamond Heaven Looks At The Magical Properties Of Birthstones
Birmingham, West Midlands (PRWEB UK) 13 March 2014 -- The 12 stones identified as birthstones are said to originate from the breastplate of Aaron in Exodus, which was decorated with 12 assorted, coloured gems said to represent the 12 tribes of Israel. This also has connections with the Gregorian Calendar, but it wasn't until 1912 when the American National Association of Jewellers designed and published the birthstone list that people associated these precious stones with specific months of the year.
Hiten Shah, Managing Director at Diamond Heaven said: "Diamonds are said to symbolise enduring love. For those who follow Astrology and the tradition of birthstones, they are also said to promote healing powers and boost energy for those born in April."
Deriving from the Ancient Greek word meaning 'unbreakable', Diamonds were discovered in India around 500BC, Ancient Hindus believed they were formed by bolts of crystallised lightning. As the hardest known natural material on Earth, diamonds throw off sparks of light, adding to the other ancient belief that they were made of splinters from the stars.
"Despite diamonds commonly being colourless, each stone is entirely different from the last. We look at the clarity, colour, carat and cut of the stone in order to categorise it.
"No two stones are ever the same, so you can guarantee a truly unique and heartfelt gift that is a one off for your special someone." Mr Shah said.
