Drawing upon his unprecedented journey as a caregiver for his wife, Gracie, for nearly three decades, author/radio host Peter Rosenberger addresses issues facing caregivers of hurting loved ones.
"Her journey now entails 78 operations, multiple amputations, 60+ physicians, 6 hospitals, and $9 million in medical bills,” states Peter (50) from his Nashville home. “Serving as a caregiver for as long as I have, I’ve learned a lot about America’s health care system — and I’ve also learned a great deal about love, life, and faith while watching my wife suffer in relentless pain for all these years."
Combining that experience with his outrageous humor, Peter Rosenberger is equipping others to bring their “A-Game” to the brutal challenges of caregiving. Recognizing that most caregivers abruptly start their journey with little or no training — or warning — Peter offers “just in time” tips learned over a lifetime of caregiving.
“We are pleased to be partnering with Peter in sharing information and inspiration about caregiving with our readers,” says Amy Taylor North, senior managing editor for PainPathways. “He brings the voice of experience and compassion to the difficulties faced by so many who find themselves feeling helpless, guilty, and frustrated while trying to care for someone in pain. This is such a significant issue for caregivers that we're featuring a three-part caregiving series from Peter in PainPathways this year."
