New York, NY (PRWEB) March 13, 2014
Clutch Group, an organization dedicated to providing the professional services for law, is pleased to announce the hiring of Steve Schmelkin as a Senior Director.
Steve joins Clutch from Deloitte Discovery, where he managed complex commercial litigation and government investigation projects for clients in the banking, telecom, and energy industries. He was active with some of Deloitte's most complex banking industry cross-functional engagements, often deploying cutting-edge data analytics, predictive coding technologies, and innovative quality control systems to streamline the document review workflow.
He had previously spent six years at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP, where he managed e-discovery initiatives for dozens of Fortune 500 clients. In particular, he actively participated in the firm's highest-profile antitrust law matters, managing several onshore and offshore teams in the collection, processing, and review of documents in several credit card and insurance industry litigations and government investigations. He also led several e-discovery Staff Attorney teams in the firm’s Albany office engaged in pharmaceutical industry intellectual property litigation document reviews.
“I was attracted to the Clutch Group because of its obvious commitment to moving beyond traditional ‘document review’ to serve the needs of its impressive global client base, and into the practice of a more intelligent and substantive fact development advisory partnership,” said Steve. “I’m very excited to join a growing team of very smart legal minds and tech savvy problem solvers, and look forward to meeting the challenge of making a positive impact upon the Clutch team and our clients.”
A graduate of NYU Law School, Steve also has an operations and management background, having an undergraduate degree in Organizational Behavior from Cornell and an MBA from Tulane.
In his new role as Senior Director, Steve will manage major global engagements for diverse clients across the pharmaceutical and financial services industries. Steve will also serve on the firm’s client engagement team to assist with client account management and client development.
“We are extremely pleased to be adding Steve to our team,” said Rob Klapp, AVP at Clutch. “He brings a wealth of e-discovery and project management experience that will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build and expand our managed services and e-discovery businesses.”
