Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) March 13, 2014
Bit Stew Systems Inc., a world-leading provider of integrated, real-time network operations for the utility industry was named to Rocket Builders 12th Annual “Ready to Rocket” list as a top CleanTech company for second consecutive year.
“We are thrilled to be named to the Ready to Rocket list once again, as it recognizes Bit Stew for our potential growth across industry sectors, and our contribution to the utility industry,” says Kevin Collins, CEO of Bit Stew Systems.
“This recognition highlights our proven success in driving emerging technologies and trends such as the Internet of Things, and for providing powerful intelligence at the edge for our customers,” adds Kevin. “Making this list is a testament to our world-class platform that’s solving complex challenges for the utility industry every day. Quite simply, no one is doing what we do in the smart grid space.”
Rocket Builders Ready to Rocket list identifies British Columbia technology companies that are best positioned to capitalize on technology trends that will lead them to faster growth than their peers. Ready to Rocket has provided accurate predictions of private companies that will likely experience significant growth, venture capital investment or acquisition by a major player in the coming year. The list covers three technology sectors: Information and Communications Technology (ICT), CleanTech (CT) and Life Science (LS). The Ready to Rocket list is the only predictive ranking of its kind in North America, and requires many months of sector and company analysis.
Geoffrey Hansen, Managing Partner at Rocket Builders says, “Three elements characterize these ‘most likely to succeed’ high growth firms: a growing market opportunity, a unique competitive position and customer validation of a must-have value proposition.”
CleanTech companies continue to fuel economy
The 2013 Ready to Rocket list for CleanTech performed extremely well with a median revenue growth rate approaching 75 per cent. The CleanTech list companies created over 125 new jobs representing over 35 per cent employment growth. The majority of companies had between 20 to 100 per cent revenue growth and an impressive 33 per cent of the companies on the list were able to more than double their revenue. The CleanTech sector in B.C. is broad and becoming more diverse. Growth rates are better than many other regions of North America. B.C. has strong CleanTech companies across key industrial verticals such as: clean energy, oil sands, petroleum, transportation and construction.
