Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 14, 2014
This week at SXSW, Stetson hosts several events to interact with the musicians and fans who bring the Stetson brand to life.
Stetson is the hat and lifestyle brand so steeped in American heritage it’s been said, “America grew up under a Stetson hat.” With their 150th anniversary coming up next year, Stetson’s mission at SXSW is to connect history with innovation, culture, and the Stetson lifestyle with the artists who embody it every day.
“Music has always been very important to us; the myriad styles of American music and the people who create and perform it are reflective of the diverse stories that are part of the world of Stetson. SXSW is the ideal environment for Stetson to be side by side with contemporary artists who are writing the current and future chapters of this long story,” said Izumi Kajimoto, Chief Executive Officer at Stetson.
As official sponsors of yesterday’s Hide & Seek event, Stetson camped out at The Blackheart, a venue with southern charm, powerful drinks, and a tendency for attracting the hottest new bands in town. Tourist, RoadKill Ghost Choir, and Yum Dee Days were just a few of the bands who performed and had the chance to find the Stetson hat which fit their tune just right.
Tonight from 7 p.m. to midnight, Stetson partners with the Agency for the Performing Arts to sponsor the Official APA SXSW Showcase. Fans with badges will surround two stages at The Palm Door on Sixth to see performers such as Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, Eric Hutchinson, Twin Forks, and more.
Prior to tonight’s showcase, Jessica Hernandez of Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas was asked about her very own Stetson hat. She said, “There is this crazy sense of nostalgia when you're wearing something that you know some pretty iconic people have been wearing for decades."
For those of you in Austin, Stetson hopes to see you at tonight’s Official APA Showcase.
SXSW is just one of many events in Stetson’s ongoing commitment to support American artists. Stetson is known for its Center Stage Playlist on YouTube, showcasing up-and-coming pop, country, rock, indie, and alternative performers.
Since John B. Stetson made his way out west in 1865, Stetson has embraced travel, adventure, American-spirit, and functionality with style. From the original “Boss of the Plains” hat to today’s diverse product line of apparel, accessories, fragrances, home décor, and spirits, Stetson continues to infuse authenticity into everyday life. Don’t be surprised to find Stetson showing off at New York Fashion Week, supporting musical acts at SXSW, and opening a pop-up barbershop in your neighborhood.
