Leadership Maryland Selects Kure Pain Management Founder Dr. Paul Davies for its Class of 2014
Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) March 17, 2014 -- Paul W. Davies, M.D., Founder, President and Medical Director of KURE Pain Management, and a resident of Annapolis, has been selected for the Leadership Maryland Class of 2014. Dr. Davies is one of 52 accomplished and talented Maryland leaders selected to participate in the eight-month program. Leadership Maryland is one of 34 state leadership programs nationwide and has graduated nearly 1,000 statewide leaders.
“The participants represent a broad spectrum of highly qualified executives from an extraordinary pool of statewide applicants,” said Renée M. Winsky, president and CEO and Class of 2005 graduate of Leadership Maryland. “After participating in a comprehensive program of experiences throughout the year, these leaders will serve as important participants in the unified effort to shape Maryland’s future.”
Following a two-day opening retreat in April, class members will attend five two-day intense sessions focusing on economic development, education, health and human services, criminal justice, the environment, and multi-culturalism/diversity. The program year will conclude with a one-day closing retreat in November and a graduation celebration in December. More than 100 experts representing business, government, education, and the non-profit community will serve as panelists and guest speakers.

Paul W. Davies, M.D. is board certified and fellowship trained in pain management. His practice, Kure Pain Management, has 8 locations throughout Maryland including a Physical Therapy center in Annapolis. Dr. Davies was recently appointed by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley as the chair of the Medical Marijuana Commission to oversee the implementation of medical marijuana in the state.
Dr. Davies has a strong commitment to the community, serving on the Board of Hospice of the Chesapeake, Historic Annapolis and the Maryland Theatre for the Performing Arts. The City of Annapolis awarded Dr. Davies with a Citation of Merit for providing free health care to the medically underserved in Anne Arundel County.
