The Lion King Tickets Seattle, WA: Ticket Down Slashes Prices of Lion King Tickets at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle WA
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) March 13, 2014 -- Ticket Down announces that one of the most popular shows in the history of Broadway is now traveling around the United States and Canada allowing fans not close to the New York Tri-State area the chance to see the thrill of The Lion King live. The show itself has been performed around the world including productions in Tokyo, Sydney, Paris, Shanghai, Sao Paulo, Madrid and many other exotic locales. There is currently one touring production that takes the same show – sans some more expensive portions of the Broadway show – around North America and it is currently at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington where it will be until April 6.
The play is based off the Disney animated film from 1994 and is produced by Disney Theatrical. The music heard during the play is from Elton John with the lyrics coming from Tim Rice. The musical score for the traveling show is from Hans Zimmer and the entire production is directed by Julie Taymor. The first time the show was held was in 1997 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, Minn. and the show has now had more than 6,700 performances at the New Amsterdam Theatre and the Minskoff Theatre. The Broadway show is the fourth-longest running show of all-time and with more than $1 billion grossed, is the highest grossing show of all-time.
Those who are familiar with the Broadway version of the show will notice a few changes that are essential for a travelling show including a smaller sun during the opening scene, smaller stages and pit orchestra areas, and parts of the show like the Pride Rock which would come up from the stage in New York City have been changed at the show being held at the Paramount Theatre.
The Paramount Theatre originally opened in 1928 and is currently on the National Register of Historic Places. It achieved that honor in 1974 and is also an official landmark for the city of Seattle. The facility can seat more than 2,900 fans and is located in downtown Seattle. It was originally known as the Seattle Theatre and had its name changed to what it is today in the 1940s.
Throughout the course of its history, the facility has been the home to concerts from Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, Madonna, Nirvana, Tool and U2 and has also been the home to numerous plays.
