As any Realtor will tell you, success is all about community and connections—a principle that’s always guided the agents at Team Ruby. Recently landing the #4 spot on the list of top-performing RE/MAX agents in North Carolina, the hard-working team is always looking for ways to interact with others in the field.
Just two weeks ago, Beau and Kristi Bourquin seized an opportunity to do just that. As they wrapped up a family vacation in Showshoe, West Virginia, local Realtor, Martha Hilton, invited the pair to visit her real estate class and speak to her students.
Always eager to share their insights with up-and-coming agents, Beau and Kristi visited Martha’s RE/MAX office in Lewisburg, West Virginia on the last Thursday evening in February. The visit was educational and rewarding—not only for the students, but for Beau and Kristi as well.
The Realtors shared valuable insider tips on building a thriving career in the competitive real estate industry. In addition to the obvious requirements of education and training, they pointed out some of the finer criteria for success.
“In our agency in particular, teamwork is everything,” Beau says. “We talked a lot about the benefits of working as part of a team, and how it’s different from working as an individual agent.”.
After speaking, the team hosted a Q&A session, during which the students had the chance to voice their questions and concerns and to receive first-hand knowledge from seasoned agents.
As Kristi points out, even one hour of interaction can have a big impact. “By volunteering a single hour of our time, we were able to meet some amazing, enthusiastic students who truly are the future of our industry.”.
