Spring Events Bring Spring Fever to Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort
Clearwater Beach, FL (PRWEB) March 15, 2014 -- While the rest of the country eagerly awaits the end of a seemingly never-ending winter season, Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa has sprung into action, putting together an impressive spring lineup that is sure to cure travelers of any lingering winter blues. Whether visiting Florida’s best beach town for St. Patrick’s Day, Mother’s Day or Easter, the AAA Four Diamond resort has special offerings to put the spring back into guests’ steps. With its prime location in the center of the city’s Beach Walk, the resort makes the ideal basecamp for any of Clearwater’s spring festivals and activities, including the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival, now in its second year, as well as the fifth annual Clearwater Beach Restaurant Week.
St. Patrick’s Day Spa Special
Open to guests and the public, the resort’s eco-friendly Sandava Spa is featuring a new treatment throughout the month of March. In the spirit of “going green,” the Tropical Shamrock Wrap begins with a dry brush exfoliation, preparing the skin to be painted head-to-toe in Irish green with the invigorating Green Tea & Ginger Mask. To remind guests that they are indeed in warm, sunny Florida and not the Northeast Atlantic, the Kukui Coconut Crème Application finishes off this rejuvenating experience with tropical flare. The 60-minute, full-body treatment is specially priced at $110 (regularly $130) all month long. An 18 percent service charge is added based on the original cost of the service and includes gratuity for the technician. For booking appointments, please call the spa at 727-373-4970.
Easter Brunch
On Easter morning April 20, 2014, the skilled culinary crew at SHOR American Seafood Grill will prepare a lavish, family-friendly buffet where the Easter Bunny himself will make an appearance. Served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., SHOR’s brunch buffet will feature an assortment of menu items. Breakfast favorites will include eggs Benedict, an omelet station and fresh fruit. The seafood station will offer a selection of oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, Dungeness crab legs, smoked salmon display and ahi tuna tartar. The cold display will feature creamy dill cucumber salad and spinach and pomegranate salad. A charcuterie station will offer handcrafted cheeses and a selection of artisan-cured meats, including garlic-cured salami, air-dried beef and soppressata. Action stations will serve up bourbon honey glazed pit ham, prime rib with SHOR’s signature pretzel rolls and chive horseradish cream, mojo marinated pork loin, sautéed grouper and creamy orzo pasta primavera. Of course, no SHOR buffet would be complete without an endless bloody Mary and mimosa bar and a decadent dessert display of flourless chocolate cake, traditional Apple pie, chocolate pecan pie, strawberry swirl cheesecake and coconut creme brulee shooters.
SHOR welcomes both resort guests and the public. Brunch will be available for $55 per adult and $25 per child under 12, plus tax and gratuity. Children four years and under are free. Limited seats are available, so advance reservations are strongly encouraged. To make a reservation, visit http://www.opentable.com, http://www.shorclearwater.com or call 727-373-4780.
On-property Easter Activities
The resort’s youngest guests will have plenty of opportunities to have their own holiday fun, including egg hunts, egg decorating, egg relay races and photos sessions with the Easter Bunny. For only $30, the Easter Bunny will also hand deliver fully stocked Easter baskets to guests’ suites between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival
The second annual Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival is ready to “wow” visitors once again this year. Taking place April 4 through April 13, 2014, the 10-day celebration will welcome back Team Sandtastic, the master sand sculptors who created last year’s 1,000-ton, walk-through sand display. This year’s tent will be even larger at 15,000 square feet. The event will additionally feature sand-sculpting competitions and clinics, speed sand demonstrations and Camp Hyatt Sandbox, a fenced-in children’s play area sponsored by the resort.
Throughout the 10-day festival, the resort will offer several food and drink specials to resort guests and the public. From 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. all week long, festival goers will be able to enjoy a 20 percent discount off of any food order from the lunch and dinner menus at SHOR and Skimmer’s Lounge by presenting a receipt or wrist band from the event. Families who buy one entrée from Hyatt’s “For Kids, By Kids” menu will also receive a second children’s menu item free. Sugar Sand Doughnut Bites will be available at SHOR and Skimmers for those craving something sweet. Also back by popular demand, the resort’s signature Sugar Sand drink, the Cool & Refreshing Gulf Coast Orange Crush, will be served all day for just $3 per drink at both Skimmers Bar and Swim Bar. The resort’s eighth-floor Swim Pool Bar will offer two-for-one sunset happy hour specials to complement its panoramic sunset views.
For the 2014 Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival, cost of admission will be $8 per adult, $4 per student ages six to 17, $5 per senior ages 55 and up and $5 for members of the military, police and fire departments. Children five years old and younger will be free. This year’s ticket admission will include both entrance into the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit and a commemorative 8x10 souvenir photo for each attendee.
