Award-Winning Filmmakers to Bring the Greatest Archaeological Discovery in History to the Silver Screen
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 17, 2014 -- Paper Crane Productions is pleased to announce an option on film rights for The Ark, a modern day action-adventure novel written by best-selling author Boyd Morrison.
The Ark (2010) follows the adventures of decorated former Army combat engineer Tyler Locke in a pulse-pounding story about the greatest archaeological discovery in history – Noah’s Ark – and what finding it could mean for the fate of mankind.
New York Times bestselling author James Rollins said, “Boyd Morrison's novel, The Ark, is a stunning thriller with a premise as ingenious as it is flawlessly executed. Lightning-paced, chillingly real, here is a novel that will have you holding your breath until the last page is turned."
The story of The Ark begins with brilliant archaeologist Dilara Kenner. While on a dig in Peru, she’s contacted by Sam, an old family friend, who says he has crucial information about her missing father. Dilara rushes to Los Angeles for answers, but when they meet, Sam speaks instead of Noah's Ark—the artifact her father had long been searching for—and the possible death of billions. But before he can explain, he collapses. With his dying breath, Sam urges Dilara to find Tyler Locke—a brash, MacGyver-type hero. After several attempts on her life, Tyler agrees to help her unearth the mystery behind Noah's Ark and, more importantly, her father's disappearance. But they soon realize that they’re not alone. A group of religious fanatics is hell-bent on beating them to the Ark for more sinister reasons.
The Ark is the first of four books in the Tyler Locke series and was an Indie Next pick by the American Booksellers Association, Wall Street Journal bestseller, and a top-15 bestseller in the UK. It has been published in 22 languages. Boyd Morrison is an author, actor, engineer and Jeopardy! champion who brings his wide-ranging experiences, including work for NASA on the International Space Station, to the pages of his exciting tales.
This is the first film option for Morrison and Paper Crane. Angelo Restaino and Greg Wilson will be penning the script with company partners Hugo Peréz, Ryan Cheevers, and Emily Moss Wilson set to produce.
