Ride-Away Launches We Deliver Freedom Crowdfunding Program To Help People With Disabilities Raise Money For Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
(PRWEB) March 14, 2014 -- HASCO Medical, Inc. (OTCQB: HASC), a company that conducts sales of handicap accessible vans, parts, service and rental operations in 18 locations from Maine to Florida and sales of medical equipment and supplies in Florida, launched a new crowdfunding effort as part of it’s We Deliver Freedom (http://www.wedeliverfreedom.com) program.
There are over 18 million people in the US and Canada that have mobility issues and the price of a wheelchair accessible vehicle is a hurdle to many people who need one. The We Deliver Freedom program works to help applicable customers who are at a financial disadvantage by facilitating fundraising through crowdfunding site GoFundMe. Qualifying participants are responsible for a majority of the cost of the vehicle, while the We Deliver Freedom program assists with the downpayment.
In March 2014 the We Deliver Freedom program welcomes Aura, a single mother who suffered a severe spinal cord injury during preventative surgery leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. Aura is the sole caretaker for her mother and daughter, Aurita, who has Down Syndrome, and her injury has left her unable to give the level of care her family requires.
Aura’s situation means that she is unable to drive, join in outside events, or hold a full-time job to pay for the expenses of three people. Formerly very involved in her daughter’s social and education development, Aura can no longer transport her to activities with supporting organizations.
Through the We Deliver Freedom program, Aura hopes to raise enough money to buy a wheelchair accessible van from Mobility Freedom in Orlando, FL. Having reliable transport will give her the freedom to transport herself and her daughter to medical appointments and local activities.
