I believe that as working dentists we should take every opportunity to learn more and network with the wider dental community.

Dr Tariq Drabu is the well-known and highly respected dentist and owner of the successful Langley Dental Practice in Middleton, Manchester. He is also a leading light in British dentistry as the Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and treatment Services for NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale. He has been qualified over 25 years and has been running a busy family dental practice for over fifteen years while still finding the time to teach dental students working on their postgraduate studies.
Dr Tariq Drabu was speaking recently, in reference to an article published by the Denistry website. The article can be read in full here. Dentistry Live is known to be one of the country’s leading dental symposiums. At the event, attendees can learn new information about a huge variety of dental and business related topics. The two day event will be held in London this June.
Dr Tariq Drabu said, “As many of my staff, students, and colleagues know, I am very keen on continued professional development. I believe that as working dentists we should take every opportunity to learn more and network with the wider dental community. It is an excellent way for us to learn from each other. I’m delighted to read that Dentistry Live is being run in London this June. I am hoping to attend and would encourage as many of my colleagues and students to do so also.”
Dr Tariq Drabu went on to say, “The symposium is a two day conference which offers attendees a range of high profile speakers delivering seminars and workshops. We will be able to enjoy demonstrations on new techniques, new products and equipment. I think the combination of lectures, seminars, workshops and demonstrations will give attendees a wonderful range of experiences that will leave them further enlightened. I value experiences like this. They are such a marvellous opportunity for learning. In addition, the event will be an excellent opportunity to meet other dentists and dental teachers, the two areas are of great interest to me. The article also informs me that dental hygienists and therapists will be attending. I think this may be of interest to my staff too, so I will be encouraging them to attend if they are able to. The event has been designed to be of benefit for the entire dental team and I think it will certainly do that. I am pleased to see they are catering for all dental workers, not just dentists.”
Dr Tariq Drabu closed by pointing out the benefit of this event to his students, saying, “This two day event will give postgraduate students and junior dentists up to 16 hours of verifiable CPD time, so it is well worth considering. Any of my students or colleagues who are interested in the event should refer to the article noted earlier, and book tickets. There is no doubt this will be well worth the investment of time and money.”
