Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 14, 2014 -- Ticket Down announces that they have lowered prices for the the 2014 SummerSlam in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center. Diehard WWE fans can use promo/coupon code SUMMERSLAM-2014 for additional savings.
For World Wrestling Entertainment, the only event that is bigger than SummerSlam is WrestleMania. SummerSlam has been held annually since 1998 when it was first held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event is always considered the “Biggest Event of the Summer” and ever since 2009, has been held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. This year, the event will again emanate from the heart of Los Angeles on August 17th.
While it is still too early to know who will be the WWE Champion when SummerSlam kicks off, fans looking to get their tickets can rest easy knowing that their favorite superstars will be lacing up their boots that night. From the most loved and hated man in the sport, John Cena, to current WWE Champion, Randy Orton, all of the biggest names in the business will be in attendance. Fans can also expect to see athletes like Daniel Bryan, Triple H, Cesaro, Batista, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Big Show, and of course, all of the top Divas in the promotion.
At the inaugural SummerSlam, The Mega Powers featuring Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage defeated The Mega Bucks featuring Ted DeBiase and Andre the Giant. In the years since this initial main event, several classics have been contested at the event. In 1992, in a match that wasn’t even the main event, fans were left in awe. The stage was set at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Bret “Hitman” Hart was to defend the Intercontinental Title against his brother-in-law, the British Bulldog. The buildup to the match saw great suspense within the Hart family and in the end, England’s own, the British Bulldog walked away as the new champion.
Another notable Intercontinental Title fight that will live on with the fans was held at the 1995 SummerSlam event from Pittsburgh, Pa. The title was being defended by Shawn Michaels against Razor Ramon. This was a rematch of a ladder match they had the year before at WrestleMania and while it didn’t live up to the status of their first match, fans were left to go home happy.
The Staples Center is one of the most popular venues in the United States for sporting events. The stadium is home to the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. The venue opened in 1999 and has seen numerous special attractions ever since. It can seat more than 20,000 fans for wrestling events and this will likely sell out quickly.
When WWE brings SummerSlam here again this August, fans will be given the chance to see another incredible show put on by the talented athletes that are professional wrestlers. SummerSlam 2014 will have a lot to live up to after last year. With two main events featuring CM Punk, Lesnar, Cena, and Bryan, WWE will need to have something planned to ensure the event lives up to the hype.
