Why:
Even as millions of Americans gain access to insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act, millions more will not have access to a primary health care provider, according to a report by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).
The report, entitled “Access Is the Answer,” comes as mandatory funding to expand the reach of care under the Affordable Care Act nears expiration. Health centers may face at 70 percent reduction in funding at a time when demand is expected to climb.
