Toms River, NJ (PRWEB) March 16, 2014
Alive Again Alliance Church, a new church in Toms River will celebrate their grand opening on April 6, 2014, 10:15 AM at Joseph Citta Elementary School, Route 9, Toms River, NJ. At the Grand Opening the church will launch Project Lazarus, an initiative to confront the Ocean County opioid overdose crisis.
As one of Ocean County’s newest churches, Alive Again is here to serve the county and has adopted the prescription drug and heroine overdose crisis as one of their concerns. Project Lazarus is a fund that will partner with the Oasis Center in Atlantic City to purchase “opioid overdose kits” for at risk families in Ocean County. These kits can literally bring a person who has accidentally overdosed back to life. Alive Again Alliance will purchase a kit in each family’s name who visits the church on their grand opening Sunday.
Ocean County is ground zero for the prescription drug and heroine overdose crisis. Hospital admissions and deaths by overdose have sky rocketed throughout our area. Alive Again is partnering with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office in the fight against prescription drug heroine abuse through the county’s Not 1 More faith-based initiative.
Pastor Bill Meyer says: “Alive Again is here to bless and serve the people of Ocean County. Project Lazarus is one way we are partnering with our community to meet one of the greatest needs of our area. This overdose crisis must be stopped and we are all in this together. Everyone is invited to come to our grand opening celebration. We will have a great band, practical teaching from the Bible, and a friendly informal family atmosphere. Most importantly though, we are here to make a difference”.
The grand opening celebration will take place at Citta Elementary School, Route 9, Toms River at 10:15 on April 6. More information can be found at http://www.aliveagainalliance.com.
