Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Responsibly with Tips from Amica
Lincoln, RI (PRWEB) March 14, 2014 -- St. Patrick’s Day is a time for celebration, whether attending a local parade or hosting a party for friends and family. It’s important to act responsibly when drinking alcohol, so Amica Insurance is sharing tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 10,000 people died in crashes involving alcohol-impaired drivers in 2012. Amica is offering the following safety tips from the NHTSA:
• If you plan on drinking, designate a sober driver or have an alternate transportation plan in place before the festivities start.
• Don’t drink too much too fast. Pace yourself by taking breaks, eating food and drinking nonalcoholic beverages.
• Keep a watchful eye on friends or family members who have been drinking. Make sure they don’t attempt to drive.
• Remember to always wear a seat belt when you’re out on the road.
