The deal brings together two strong players in the world of wearable technology. Neptune Computer’s flagship product, the Neptune Pine, generated considerable buzz in 2013 as the world’s first Android watch phone. Pearl Studios is an award winning brand and product consultancy, known for elegantly disruptive products, such as the Misfit SHINE, Singing Machine Home and 360Fly.
Mladen Barbaric, Founder and CEO of Pearl said, “We have an opportunity to profoundly improve how people communicate and interact. Simon’s vision is truly inspiring, and our team is very excited for the day we share Neptune’s next product, the fruit of our joint endeavor, with the public.”
“This partnership is a natural fit for both companies,” said Simon Tian, Founder of Neptune Computer. “We share a desire to change the status quo for the better with technology. Neptune could not have a better partner than Pearl Studios and I look forward to working with Mladen and his amazing team.”
Pearl’s work on the Misfit SHINE won worldwide media acclaim and major accolades including the Red Dot and A’ Design awards. Former Apple CEO, John Sculley, called Pearl, “some of the most savvy consumer product designers and engineers I've ever worked with.”
Neptune Computer received worldwide praise for the Neptune Pine smartwatch, which puts all the functions of a smartphone and more on the wrist.
