Kansas City, Mo. (PRWEB) March 18, 2014 -- Agrisoft Development Group announced a partnership today with C4EverSystems, LLC that would integrate Agrisoft Seed to Sale™ cannabis-tracking software with cash-payment kiosks at dispensaries and cultivation sites. At present, all medical and recreational cannabis transactions take place in cash. Banking associations have stated they will not permit money from cannabis sales to be deposited in their banks until cannabis is removed from the list of Schedule I controlled substances. The threats of diversion, theft, and human error are of grave concern to dispensaries and state regulators. Payment kiosks will take cash out of the hands of retail employees and lock it away. They also guarantee transparency, accurate accounting, and 100-percent collection of taxes due. The concept in the cannabis industry is so new, Agrisoft is inviting a limited number of licensees to beta test kiosks in their dispensaries.
“When patients enter a dispensary, their authorization to make a purchase is verified and they receive a bar-coded receipt,” says Agrisoft CEO, Charles Ramsey. “They then place their order at a retail counter or a point-of-sale order tablet where their bar code is again read. This streamlines the ordering process. The patients proceed to the kiosk to make their cash payment, after which their order is fulfilled,” Ramsey said. “The kiosk integrates with our point-of-sale software and accurately counts the cash, identifies counterfeit currency, provides exact change, and secures every dollar. From a management standpoint,” adds Ramsey, “the system is invaluable. Managers can see at any moment how much revenue has been collected in real time. This is especially important in the event of unannounced state inspections and audits.”
Agrisoft COO, Matt Cook, is the nation’s top regulatory consultant to the cannabis industry. He assists dozens of states and foreign entities as they craft their cannabis statutes and regulations. “States are scrutinizing the risks involved in legalizing medical and recreational marijuana. If we can take cash out of the hands of individuals, lock it in kiosks that are as impenetrable as ATM machines, track the money in real time, and include camera security, the comfort level of regulators will vastly improve.”
“Payment kiosks aren’t new,” says Mark Goldfogel, CEO of C4EverSystems. “Our core technology has processed more than $160 million for municipalities, states, and private companies for everything from traffic tickets to utility bills.” C4Ever Systems recognized the expanding niche and licensed the technology for use in the cannabis industry. With a management background in software that was designed to enforce cannabis regulations, C4EverSystems now has dedicated its enterprise to helping “cannabusinesses” control their cash. Credit-card processing is expected to be available to cannabis transactions soon, and the kiosks already can accept credit cards. In select areas, dispensaries also may wish C4EverSystems to handle cash collection, delivery, and debit card conversion services for additional fees.
“Dispensaries are like any other retail business, says Ramsey, “They want to focus on serving the needs of their patients and customers. Payment kiosks will allow everyone to relax, knowing their money is secure and in transparent compliance with laws.”
