Hercules Star Sorbo Attends NYC Premiere of "God's Not Dead," Touts Secret to Life-Saving Antioxidant Regime, Partnership With Fluitec's TestMeKit
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) March 17, 2014 -- Hercules star Kevin Sorbo knows firsthand the importance of physical health. While starring as the action hero in the 1990s hit TV series, filmed in New Zealand, Sorbo suffered a devastating series of strokes that left not only the production but also his life and well being in grave jeopardy.
Over the course of the next couple of years, through a strict regime that included a healthy diet infused with antioxidant packed foods and exercise, Sorbo struggled to regain his health and physical prowess.
He went on to shoot the successful completion of the series and has since acted in more than 50 movies, the most recent being the critically acclaimed "God is Not Dead," premiering on March 21.
Sorbo is also adamant about using the knowledge he used during his recovery to help others, and that is why he has teamed up with Jersey-City based Fluitec to work with the company's revolutionary new system for measuring and monitoring the body's level of free radicals.
Sorbo is a shareholder of the TestMe Kit, the simple at home test for discovering anybody's level of oxidative stress, enabling them to help devise their own regime for combating free radicals.
"What's great about the TestMeKit is that I can take it on the road with me. I will test myself every two to three weeks just to see where I'm at, and I'll adjust accordingly. It's a good way to make sure you're maintaining what you're supposed to be doing with your health," Sorbo said.
"You don't have to be in Hollywood to be stressed. People have stressful lives, we are so much more fast-paced now, and everybody is mulit-tasking. It'simportant to take these tests at least once a month to see where you are and to see what's going on."
Fluitec is recognized as a world leader in the understanding of oxidative stress and the monitoring of antioxidants, data collection, analysis, and mitigation of those stresses. The company is constantly developing new solutions, technology, products and services to support those categories worldwide in more than fifty countries spanning five continents. Creating an antioxidant test for humans was a natural product extension.
The comparison between man and machine was one of the things that caused Sorbo to pursue working with Fluitec.
"Here's a company that measures the health of helicopters, planes, machines and they transferred that knowledge and technology the understanding antioxidants in the human body because our bodies are machines. Think about it. How do you keep them well oiled, well greased and your hydraulic fluids all in place? It's no different with human beings. I don't know how they did it, but they did it the technology is amazing," said Sorbo.
