St. Louis, Missouri (PRWEB) March 17, 2014
Ticket Down announces that in an effort to ensure they are prepared fully for the World Cup this June, several nations are competing in the event that Major League Soccer is hosting called the “Road to Brazil.” Seven games featuring multiple teams will be held during the event including defending World Cup champion Spain, Greece, Honduras, Ivory Coast and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Ivory Coast will compete in the second match of the event on May 30 at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Mo.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently ranked as the 21st (as of press time) best team in the world according to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association. The 2014 World Cup will be the first in their history and they will be looking to get as much momentum as possible before traveling to South America and it all begins with this showdown with Ivory Coast. Bosnia and Herzegovina advanced to the World Cup easily after winning their qualifying group with a +24 goal differential. After advancing to the tournament handily, they will be taking part in a group that they can walk away the winner of. Their first game will be against Argentina, a perennial powerhouse, before then taking on Iran and Nigeria.
The Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) is currently ranked by FIFA as the 24th (as of press time) best team in the world. They will be competing in their third straight World Cup and will be looking to make it out of their first Group Stage when they travel to Brazil. They will compete in Group C against Colombia, Greece and Japan. It will be a tough group for them to advance from, but as one of the best African teams in the world, they will be prepared to battle.
When Bosnia and Herzegovina takes the pitch against Ivory Coast at the Edward Jones Dome, they will be led by several of the greatest players in their nation’s soccer history. Among the players that will suit up in this game include their all-time leading goal scorer, Edin Džeko (33 goals, 60 caps), as well as two others in the top four on their goal scorer list; Zvjezdan Misimović (25 goals, 79 caps) and Vedad Ibišević (20 goals, 53 caps).
For Ivory Coast, this game will be one that will allow fans to see one of the best players in the world, Didier Drogba. He has scored 62 goals in his career during his 98 caps and will be joined on the pitch by players like Yaya Touré (16 goals, 82 caps), Didier Zokora (118 caps) and Kolo Tiéné (105 caps). The team has a lot of youth to go with the experience, and this game will make for a great learning experience.
The Edward Jones Dome is the home of the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League. The facility opened in 1995 and has hosted numerous other sporting events and special attractions ever since. The dome can seat more than 66,000 fans and when Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ivory Coast compete before traveling to Brazil for the World Cup, it will be filled to capacity.
