Quasar Lite for Science™ to Publish 'The Quasar Lite Adventures'
Richland Hills, TX (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- GeBe LLC announces plans to publish 'The Quasar Lite Adventures,' a fictional book series that includes science curriculum. Quasar Lite for Science was designed to engage students with a hands-on aircraft experience in the classroom. In classes presented on-site at their school, students are taught fundamental aviation principles, and are then able to exercise some of what they have learned in the cockpit of an actual production airplane. This engaging syllabus is now being integrated into a series of adventure books.
Quasar Lite for Science will launch a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo later this month.
During the on-campus classes, each student has the opportunity to sit in the aircraft cockpit, maneuver the flight controls and explain how those movements would affect the aircraft with respect to pitch, roll and yaw. Topics covered in QLfS classes include Types of Aircraft, Forces at Work, Flight Axes, and Flight Control Surfaces, as well as the scientific principles and laws that result in Lift. The classes include an introduction to Atmosphere, Barometric Pressure and Weather, and conclude by engaging the students in a discussion about the relevance of science and technology in their future.
Publication of the books, with the science and technology curriculum embedded, is an evolution from the classroom experience. The objective is to provide an enthusiastic learning experience while enhancing awareness of the importance technology plays in the lives of our children – reaching more than just one class of students at a time. “When we set out to excite sixth graders about technology in their lives, with this amazing aircraft, I really underestimated how enthused the students would be. Seeing these kids have Eureka moments was personally thrilling. We knew we were on to something good,” said Bob Archer, co-founder.
