LEGO(r)s and STEM exhibits will be inspiring creativity, innovation, and new friendships among Tampa Bay area students as the first Brickmania event comes to Tampa Bay, Saturday, March 22, 2014 2pm-4:30pm on Carrollwood Day School’s campus.
The intent of the event is to spark Tampa Bay area students' interest in STEM education and STEM careers while building friendship bonds within the community. Marketing materials target students in Kindergarten through Eighth grades at Bay Area private schools, public schools, home schools, Boy Scouts, Girl
Scouts, and other student activity groups.
The Brickmania LEGO(r)competition offers students (Kindergarten - Eighth grades) the opportunity to build an individual original creation from LEGO(r) bricks at home and bring in for judging. There are three grade level divisions; each with their own theme: K-2(How Does Your Garden Grow), 3-5(Florida), and 6-8(Ultimate Theme Park). Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, March 18, 2014. The event is $5 per family to attend or $15.00 per LEGO(r) creation (which includes the $5 family entry fee) to enter the LEGO(r) contest.
A portion of the proceeds will go to support USF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (USF CARD) a local comprehensive outreach and support program serving people with autism and related disabilities, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
