Panama City, Florida (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- Filter of Hope announced that they will be AOL’s Cause of the Day today, March 20, 2014, as they look forward to celebrating the United Nations’ World Water Day. The United Nations’ World Water Day 2014 is on March 22, and as AOL’s Cause of the Day, Filter of Hope is shedding light on the enduring world water crisis. To combat this crisis on the ground level, individuals, groups, and businesses can purchase a Filter of Hope ($40) for a family living in desperate need in a developing country.

WORLD WATER DAY
World Water Day was created by the U.N. and is held annually on March 22 to focus attention on the importance of the world’s freshwater and to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. BANNER YEAR
The announcement at AOL’s Cause of the Day follows a banner year for Filter of Hope. The organization distributed and installed over 5,000 portable water filters in over 30 countries. Each filter provides up to 150 gallons a day of clean, safe water for thousands of people living in some of the harshest conditions on the planet. This adds up to over 291 million gallons of clean, safe water every year for these families.
KIND KART/TYPHOON HAIYAN RELIEF
Along with their other ongoing project, Filter of Hope—in a joint effort with Kind Kart and Convoy of Hope—is distributing 5,000 water filters to the people of the Philippines as part of ongoing disaster relief in the wake of Typoon Haiyan. Filter distribution will be focused on the islands of Cebu and Panay.
People interested in donating to this project can go to Kind Kart’s Amazon wedding registry, select the number of water filters they wish to donate, and check out using their Amazon accounts. When a donation is made, Filter of Hope will send the filter to Convoy of Hope who will then distribute in the Philippines.
