The Alexir Partnership reveal more technical features of the AlexiMAP®
(PRWEB UK) 20 March 2014 -- The Alexir Partnership launched the AlexiMAP® at the Packaging Innovations Show on their Innovation Centre stand J43. The AlexiMAP® is the result of a joint project between Alexir and Proseal which further endorses their working relationship. This new packaging format stems from numerous trials between the two companies and a genuine market need for MAP compliant lightweight carton board food trays. This unique food packaging is MAP compliant for extended shelf life with less than 1% residual oxygen achievable.
Whilst the carton board tray is lighter than a plastic tray reducing transport costs, it is also constructed from a widely recyclable material from a sustainable source. Furthermore, the inner liner can be removed which allows the board tray to be composted and recycled. These environmental features are fundamental to this project and brown kraft options are available for brand managers to encourage the organic look and feel of the packaging. Anti-fog windows are also further options to enable full visibility of the produce within.
A further benefit of the board tray is the design of the construction; horizontal sealing flanges around the edges of the tray reduce the manual handling in packing, compared to conventional board trays. The AlexiMAP® is suitable for freezer, chilled, ambient, microwave and conventional oven*.
